We’re moving to a new space in Westgate West – with a new ten-year lease!
April 8, 2025 – Gratitude Note from Michele
Thank you, Bikram Yoga San Jose, for the commitment to your practice and our community and the long life of the studio – it shows.
On display these last few months is how much you showed up for our Studio 4 fundraising campaign. We aimed to raise $200,000 for expenses related to this big transition. We set out to sell 35 special 4-year unlimited plans, and we sold 36! We set a goal of $25,000 in donations and have only $3,500 left to raise to get us to a grand total of $200,000.
The 4-year membership opportunity is now closed, but the donation page will remain open. We are putting these funds away so we’re ready when Costco breaks ground and we get the green light on our new studio build.
Our campaign, called Here to Stay, is fitting because we’re lucky to have a home no matter where we are, HERE or THERE, for what is most important: your practice, YOUR yoga, YOUR LIFE.
With such gratitude from all of the management at BYSJ, stay tuned for any updates as we have them.

March 14, 2025 – Project Update from Michele
Our current lease is through 2030, and our new lease will be for ten years after we open there – we are Here to Stay! This yoga and our yoga community are more significant than any project. Yoga makes it ALL work, and I mean ALL. Keep up your practice regardless of where we are. Even during Covid, the ability to practice in the parking lot was a gift!
The Here to Say Fundraising Campaign will close on March 31. I can’t thank you enough for helping us meet our goals and generate income for when the time comes and expenses start rolling in towards this move.
Many of you jumped on the 4-year plan of unlimited yoga for $5,000 – a great deal at $500/year less than the annual unlimited. We have a few plans left, so I’d like to keep this offer open through the end of the month for anyone who still wants one. Our goal was to offer 35 4-year plans. If it is within your reach to support us, take advantage of the savings, and make a bold statement about your commitment to this practice, please feel free to buy it on our membership page. Regardless, this fundraising campaign will end March 31 and these plans will not be available again.
Our donation page will remain active. With over $15,000 in donations received, we’re forever grateful and closer to our goal of $25,000!
You prove to me every day how transformative this yoga is. I LOVE hearing your stories; please don’t hesitate to share them with me and with us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart as I look both back and forward to what this yoga and this community has done and is doing to make this world a better place. I imagine that one day, this yoga will be commonplace and practiced around the globe – what a brighter world we will have created together.

October 27, 2024 – Project Announcement
Alongside the Costco project proposal for Westgate West, we have been working diligently with our landlords on an agreement and plans for a new studio location in the space formerly occupied by AAA. The San Jose City Council gave the project the final green light on October 22, and we’re so excited to be able to share these relocation plans with you!
This studio will be our fourth location in Westgate West, each time inching us closer to the front of the shopping center, gaining more and more visibility and refinement with each move. Now that the project is approved, our move will be one of the first phases, which will minimize impacts on our members during the Costco construction process.
As the project gets underway, check back here to stay up-to-date on our progress and anticipated moving date.
Our current space has been a blessing: a state-of-the-art facility with incredible community vibes in which to practice our yoga. We’re bringing the best of this location into a larger space with dedicated parking, easier street access, and greater visibility. This move meets our primary objective: to bring more yoga to more people to enhance their lives.

Help us stay, here to stay!
BYSJ has been incredibly resilient for the past 22 years, especially the last four: We went through a new studio build and relocation, followed only three months later by the Covid pandemic. Since then, there has been much uncertainty about this shopping center and a reduction in exposure and foot traffic. Our resolve is stronger than ever – we’re here to stay, we’re here for you, and we need your support.
Support our move with a donation
Our goal is $25,000 in donations to assist in the costs we will incur during the transition. We are growing together again for at least ten more years. Your donation ensures that we all keep our yoga practice – we’re here to stay!
You can donate with a Venmo or PayPal account. To use your credit or debit card, choose PayPal.
“We need $200,000 to cover our expenses for this move. How this works is yoga in exchange for your financial generosity.”
